Daniel Virgen

DAN VIRGEN is a Philadelphia-based composer and multi-instrumentalist and a graduate of the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University, where he earned a BM in Music Composition. His work spans a wide range of chamber and large ensemble settings, including pieces for string quartet, mixed chamber ensembles, vocal works, and electroacoustic instrumentation.

As a performer, Dan is active across a variety of musical spaces, performing double bass in orchestral and jazz settings, euphonium and trombone in brass and wind ensembles, and electric bass within Philadelphia’s DIY music scene. He is deeply influenced by contemporary classical music, jazz, and alternative rock, and is especially drawn to genre-fluid collaboration.
