Projections

Icebox Project Space | 1400 N American St, Philadelphia, PA 19122

Featuring images projected onto the wall, Network’s season opener will include string quartets by contemporary composers Eleanor Alberga and Trevor Weston, the full premiere of Amanda Harberg’s Tales of Lyra for solo bass clarinet (first movement was premiered in the same space last year by Paul R. Demers), Ondas by Sonia Ray, and Prime for double bass and percussion by Hannah Selin. And last and especially poignant, we will remember Philadelphia composer Jim Primosch with a premiere performance of his last work, Water Can Assume Any Form, performed by long-time friend and colleague saxophonist Matt Levy and preceded by a spoken tribute from another long-time friend, colleague, and former NNM artistic director, Linda Reichert.

This performance will be the first Network for New Music live concert since February 2020 and will feature the following ensemble members:

Hamza Able — percussion
Paul R. Demers — bass clarinet
Molly Germer — violin
Mary Javian — double bass
Min-Young Kim — violin
Tom Kraines — cello
Matthew Levy — saxophone and electronics
Hannah Nicholas — viola

The event will also be live-streamed and then presented online at a later date.
