The Poetry of Solo
Network plays the World Cafe Live, where our superb musicians shine in solos inspired by new poetry! Have dinner by the stage, while Philadelphia poets Jeanne Minahan and Lamont Dixonbring live readings to a program of spectacular music played by members of the Network for New Music Ensemble.Doors open for dinner at 6:30 PM, and the concert starts at 7:30. The food is great, the bar is right there, and the music is live–it’s a great way to kick back with friends!

Elizabeth Masoudnia, English horn, performing the world premiere of after the Burial, by Joseph Hallman; new poetry by Jeanne Minahan
Hirono Oka, violin, who plays Ricercar by Louis Karchin; new poetry by Jeanne Minahan
Anthony Orlando, percussion, performing Portentum by Andrew Rudin; new poetry by Lamont Dixon
Arne Running, clarinet, performing the world premiere of his own work; new poetry by Lamont Dixon
Edward Schultz, flute, performing the world premiere of a new work by his brother, composer Robert Schultz; poetry by his mother Barbara Burwell
Burchard Tang, viola, performing the world premiere of Violiloquy, by Ingrid Arauco; inspired by the poetry of Donald Justice.
