Thomas Kraines, Cello
Cellist Thomas Kaines is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School, enjoys an active career as a performer, teacher and composer. He performs with the ensemble Mistral, the improvisation duo Dithyramb, and the Kang/Kraines duo, with his wife, violinist Juliette Kang. Kraines has performed his own compositions across the country, and samples of his music can be heard at www.myspace.com/tomkraines. In 2007/08 he will premiere his ‘Songs of Spring and Summer’ with soprano Maria Jette, and will also be featured in recital at the Jubilus Music Festival in Florida. His teachers have included Orlando Cole, Joel Krosnick, Frederic Raimi, and, for composition, Tom Benjamin. Kraines teaches cello at Princeton University and Temple Preparatory.
