Media and Concert Production Associate, Network for New Music
(PT, 15 hours per week average, 50 weeks per year)
Network for New Music, Philadelphia’s premier organization for commissioning and presenting contemporary classical music, invites applications and / or nominations for a Media & Concert Production Associate to oversee digital strategy and content development, marketing, and event production, as well as other public-facing aspects of a vibrant and well-established new music organization, founded in 1984. Together with the Artistic Director and Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to work closely with many of the region’s most prominent performers and composers, and to play an important role in strengthening the musical culture of Philadelphia.
As Media & Concert Production Associate, you will have experience with a broad range of media and production tools relevant to running a contemporary chamber ensemble. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: live event production, web design and maintenance, and implementation of a marketing strategy. In a typical concert week, you (a jack of all trades) might shoot and edit a 2-minute promo video, design a concert program, share news about the upcoming events via social media and targeted email campaigns, and oversee the concert production itself. You will also be the primary point-of-contact with ensemble musicians and responsible for rehearsal scheduling.
Season activities typically take place between September and May and include 4–5 concerts, as well as additional educational activities and donor events. The position averages 16 hours weekly with considerable flexibility based on the season concert schedule.
Required Qualifications: college degree; excellent communication/writing skills; ability to work independently and meet regular deadlines; excellent attention to detail; broad fluency in digital media; evening and weekend hours as needed, and daytime flexibility. Familiarity with contemporary classical music is desired, but not required.
While the successful candidate must be based in Philadelphia, this position allows for significant flexibility in terms of scheduling and much of the work can be done remotely. It is assumed that the candidate will concurrently be involved in outside creative or professional work. The position is open for applications until it is filled; position begins in Sept. 2017 with a short training session in the latter part of August, 2017.
To Apply: please send a resume or c.v. and a brief note of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send links to 2-3 work samples, which should include writing samples, as well as web design, audio or video production samples. No telephone calls, please. Candidates who are invited to interview will be contacted directly.
Network for New Music is an equal opportunity employer.
