Network for New Music showcases the music of the Millennial generation featuring six works by some of the most talented composers of this generation. The two featured commissioned works include: Reflections #2 (viola, cello, piano) by Rene Orth, and a new work for violin and cello by composer Joshua Hey . The program takes further shape with: Sky Macklay’s bold and humorous FastSlowHighLow for violin and piano; the Philadelphia premiere of Charles Peck’s piano quartet Sunburst; Gabriel Bolaños’s los minusculos for solo cello and electronics; and a performance of erebus, an evocative work for clarinet and piano, by the critically acclaimed pianist and composer Andrew Hsu.
Featuring exceptional performances by these members of the Network for New Music Ensemble:
Please note that Charles Abramovic and Mark Livshits will be performing piano in place of Clipper Erickson on this concert.
This event is co-sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania. The concert will be immediately followed by a brief panel discussion with UPenn professor of Music, Jim Primosch, and the composers represented on the concert, along with Yoonah Kim. Then, join us for a reception generously provided by the University of Pennsylvania!
